Senior Insurance & Contracts Coordinator - Up to £55k
International Shipping | Hybrid Working

FryerMiles is recruiting for a Senior Insurance & Contracts Coordinator to join the legal and insurance team of an international shipping business.

This is a varied opportunity for someone with experience in legal, contracts or regulatory work who enjoys balancing commercial priorities with careful risk management. You’ll support insurance renewals, claims administration and contract reviews, while contributing to projects that improve how the team operates.

The role

Working closely with internal stakeholders, insurance brokers and regional colleagues, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting corporate insurance renewals and tenders, ensuring contractual insurance requirements align with the business’s cover.

  • Assisting with incident responses, maritime claims and loss prevention activities.

  • Reviewing customer contracts, identifying liability risks and proposing amendments against agreed commercial positions.

  • Reviewing supplier, procurement, IT and software agreements, including provisions covering data protection, cybersecurity and compliance.

  • Responding to queries relating to bills of lading, indemnities and other shipping documentation.

  • Analysing recurring incidents, maintaining trackers and helping identify opportunities to reduce risk.

  • Developing contract guidance and checklists, and supporting training for commercial and operational colleagues.

  • Contributing to contract management systems, AI-enabled review tools and wider departmental improvement projects.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Around 2–3 years’ experience in a legal, contracts or regulatory role, ideally involving commercial contract review and negotiation.

  • Strong organisation, project management and prioritisation skills.

  • Good commercial judgement, attention to detail and confidence identifying issues that require escalation.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build relationships across different teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, with the confidence to learn new systems.

  • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to work independently.

Experience in shipping, logistics or transportation would be advantageous, particularly knowledge of maritime insurance, cargo claims or carriage of goods by sea. Relevant legal or international trade study, tender management experience and familiarity with contract management platforms or AI legal tools would also be beneficial
